Huka Falls, New Zealand Resin on canvas . 108 cm x 77cm.
This was the first of many inspired by the thundering Huka Falls, New Zealand. It was also my first painting after experimenting with using Resin as a painting medium. Resin seemed appropriate its sheen describes the light and transparency of the water perfectly. I was so exhilarated by the spectacle of energy that I wanted to capture the shear power of a massive amount of water tunnelling its way down through, and falling into the calm lake below. I hope the viewer feels the expression of energy and delights in the patterns and textures. This painting looks modern and fresh and I guarantee that you will never see another like it .
