The tendency to detect the human form in ambiguous visual information (a phenomenon often referred to as Pareidola) has been brought to my attention by past viewers of my work, especially of my abstract pieces. There seems to be an inherent need to recognise or make sense of them, by organising shapes into animate forms. For instance, "I can see an eye or face". Their individual perceptions connected with my ideas of the ambiguity of form in the landscape. It is this that informed the first few images of this series of work .
